WASHINGTON, D.C., February 10, 2026 — VeraSafe is proud to announce that Kyoungsic Min, Privacy Counsel and Asia Regional Lead, has been appointed to the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Asia Advisory Board and as Country Leader for Korea.
Marking a pioneering milestone as the first Korean professional to be appointed to the Asia Advisory Board and the first to serve as Country Leader for Korea, these dual appointments recognize Kyoungsic’s leadership in Asia’s fast-evolving privacy and AI governance landscape and reflect VeraSafe’s commitment to regulatory foresight, cultural fluency, and global collaboration.
The IAPP Asia Advisory Board plays a key role in guiding the organization’s regional strategy by providing insight into legal, technological, and policy developments across Asia. As a member of the board, Kyoungsic will help shape programming, publications, and engagement that strengthen privacy leadership in the region.
The IAPP Country Leader Program promotes peer collaboration and thought leadership at the national level. Building on his impactful tenure as Co-Chair of the IAPP Seoul KnowledgeNet Chapter since 2024, Kyoungsic will elevate community-building among local privacy professionals and foster dialogue that connects Korea’s regulatory developments to global best practices.
“Kyoungsic has a rare ability to connect Korea’s complex, fast-evolving regulatory landscape with the practical needs of global organizations,” said Matthew Joseph, Managing Director at VeraSafe. “His involvement in both of these IAPP initiatives strengthens the strategic guidance we provide to clients navigating cross-border privacy and AI regulation.”
A dual-qualified attorney in Korea and Washington, D.C., Kyoungsic leads VeraSafe’s operations across the Asia-Pacific region. His appointment to the IAPP leadership follows his recent selection to the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) Support Pool of Experts, solidifying his unique position as a global privacy professional bridging Asia, Europe, and the U.S. At VeraSafe, he provides pragmatic counsel at the intersection of data protection, emerging technology, and international compliance.
“It’s an honor to contribute to the IAPP’s efforts in Korea and across Asia,” said Kyoungsic Min. “As privacy, AI, and global regulation continue to converge, I look forward to creating spaces for thoughtful dialogue and shared insight among privacy professionals.”
These appointments further demonstrate VeraSafe’s dedication to advancing privacy leadership that is globally informed and locally grounded—supporting clients through forward-thinking legal and strategic guidance.
