VeraSafe Privacy Counsel Kyoungsic Min Selected for the EDPB Support Pool of Experts (SPE)

WASHINGTON, D.C., January 22, 2026 — VeraSafe is proud to announce that Kyoungsic Min, Privacy Counsel and Asia Regional Lead, has been appointed to the European Data Protection Board’s (EDPB) Support Pool of Experts, a specialized panel of legal and technical advisors supporting EU data protection authorities on matters of high regulatory significance.

The appointment places Kyoungsic among a select group of professionals entrusted with guiding the EU’s response to the privacy challenges posed by new and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, digital platforms, and cross-border data flows. Experts in the program may be called upon to contribute to regulatory investigations, draft guidance, and provide legal analysis in support of the EDPB’s enforcement and policy missions.

“I’m honored to support the EDPB in addressing complex privacy and data protection questions at the intersection of technology and fundamental rights,” said Kyoungsic Min. “This role is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to Europe’s evolving privacy landscape and reflect the realities of global data processing in regulatory discussions.”

Kyoungsic is a dual-qualified attorney (South Korea and Washington, D.C.) with a distinguished legal career that spans the International Criminal Court, the National Human Rights Commission of Korea, and Yulchon LLC, one of South Korea’s premier law firms. At VeraSafe, he leads the firm’s operations in the Asia-Pacific region and advises multinational clients on compliance strategies that align with both global standards and regional realities.

“Kyoungsic’s appointment underscores the caliber of our team and our commitment to global leadership in privacy compliance,” said Matthew Joseph, Managing Director at VeraSafe. “We are proud to see his expertise recognized at the highest levels of data protection governance.”

Kyoungsic is the second VeraSafe team member appointed to the EDPB Support Pool of Experts, joining Jim Cormier, VeraSafe’s Senior Vice President and Head of Professional Services, who was previously selected for the program—further reinforcing VeraSafe’s role as a trusted partner to organizations navigating EU and global privacy requirements.

The EDPB Support Pool of Experts was established to enhance the capacity of EU regulators in the enforcement of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other privacy frameworks. Members of the pool are selected through a rigorous vetting process and contribute to projects where independent, high-level expertise is essential.

Kyoungsic’s selection not only reflects his individual achievements, but also reinforces VeraSafe’s mission to deliver pragmatic, high-impact privacy advice grounded in legal excellence and international perspective.
